Genealogy Services
Specialized research in Cuban ancestry and Spanish records — translating documents, tracing lineages, and connecting you to the people who made you possible.
"When a family member passes away, they take a library of memories with them. It's a genealogist's duty to record them before that happens."
What I offer
Also referred to as a family tree or ancestry chart, the pedigree chart shows the ancestors of an individual. The layout expands from the individual upward through older generations — a living document of where you come from.
Family, friends, churches, collections, and government entities are solicited on your behalf via email, telephone, and letters. Verbal and written communications offered in Spanish and English. Portuguese available in written format.
Government, community, museum, historical societies, and library archives — as well as private collections — researched using the best method of accessibility. Every project is unique; scope and complexity determine timeline.
Baptism, marriage, death, deeds, wills, and military records that are handwritten are transcribed and converted into digital documents. Translation to English or Spanish is available once the document is transcribed.
The researcher
It is a natural curiosity for human beings to want to know where they came from, who the people that led to them were, and to look for inherited family traits. I am no different — in fact, more than enthusiastic about it.
I have spent the last 30 years interviewing, researching, logging information, cold calling, cataloging families and creating pedigrees. I know that not all requests for family history are the same, so every project starts with identifying the objective and developing a plan to achieve it, using the "Genealogy Standards" guidelines.
I hold a BA in Information Technology with a minor in Business, and have worked in the technology industry for 20 years with a strong focus on application support and project management. These skills allow me to analyze and identify problems thoughtfully and efficiently — invaluable when tracing a family through centuries of records.
